Salmon to 15 lb. reported from the Rivers Lee and Ilen in Co. Cork.

Eileen Carroll Murphy reports from the Macroom office of Inland Fisheries Ireland on some of the Cork salmon rivers.

RIVER LEE

Fishing very well at present approximately 30 fish landed for the past two weeks, with  fish averaging 6 lb. in weight each.  Best method spinning.

RIVER ILEN

The middle to the end of April saw some rain fall and the river was in good condition for fishing.  4 salmon were reported caught weighing 5 lb. to 15 lb.  Best method spinning

RIVER BANDON

There were no returns and catch and release is the rule on this river.
