Philip Maher of Fish Hunt reports:
The past few day has been very successful for the Suir with trout to 9 lbs and salmon up to the 20 mark. Last saturday I had a day on the river with fellow casting instructor Keith McDonnell “Keith operates a guiding and instruction service in Dublin where he specialises in catching large wild trout from Irish rivers and has spent many years researching and developing flies, techniques and theories that bring up the biggest fish in the river” and he provide this all day long with over 50 trout from 1-4.5 lbs. I tried some of the techniques on Sunday when a french angler I was guiding caught this fine trout.
Which he return after a few pictures where taken.
We have also caught some fine salmon on the fly in the past week.
With the water levels just coming right the fishing should be super over the coming week.
