Well stocked Carrigavantry saw the arrival of fish-hungry fishermen from Cork last Sunday November 4th.

Michael Drinan of Fly Fishing Ireland tells us. “On behalf of our club we would like to thank David Tantrum and the committee at Carrigavantry for allowing us to run a competition on this fabulous lake . The fishing is without a doubt one of the best I’ve seen in this country as for fighting and the quality of the fish.

The results are as follows:
17 anglers caught 47 trout.
The longest fish was 55 cm, a brown trout.
3 juniors were among the 17 anglers but only one lad caught fish.

The weather was shocking yes but there have been some great feed back , looking to when the next competition is been held there again and some lads are coming back again.

Compliments of:

David Tantrum,

Waterford City and County Trout Angling Association
