Colm Lynch from East Coast Angling reports that water levels are low and clear inĀ theĀ Boyne at Navan at the moment. However, trout anglers are happy as the brown trout fishing onĀ theĀ River Boyne at Navan has improved in recent days. Good numbers of wild brown trout are now being taken on dry and wet flies and some on streamers. During the last week Simon Cassidy and Tony Linus have had lots of trout to 1.5lbs. Today Friday 13th saw large number of Hawthorn fly around the Kilcarn section of the river. AsĀ the Hawthorn fliesĀ get blown onto the water this is sure to stir the trout into action. There areĀ alsoĀ some olives around at the minute. Some trout are rising freely to dry flies but periods of activity are short lived.
