Lindsey Clarke reports:
Monday 27th August to Sunday 2nd September 2012
Lough Melvin fished well at times for sonaghan. In fact the only angling this week was for sonaghan and I have heard of no rods fishing for salmon (or gillaroo). Anglers reported fair catches of sonaghan although they had to ‘work’ for their fish. Most catches were reported from the deep water drifts of Billberry, Garrison, The School House, Ross Point etc. It seems that the Kinlough end of the lough did not fish as well and those anglers that fished the western end of the lough stated that very few trout were seen or caught.
