Bill Brazier sent us some fantastic photos of young Daniel Heaney with a beautifully proportioned common carp weighing 14lb 4oz from The Lough, Cork City which was landed, unaided, by 8-year old fishing fanatic Daniel. Whilst father Martin was on hand to offer expert advice, Dan didn’t take much notice, did his own thing and landed the specimen! This is just one of several similar sized carp he has landed recently from the same venue – he also managed to land a stunning 12lb 7oz Mirror on the same recent overnight trip (Oct 18-19th).
Daniel personal best is a 14lb 7oz carp which he landed a few weeks ago but this 14lb 4oz carp wins him Catch of the Week.
We totally agree with Bill when he says “I think it is fantastic that kids as young as Daniel show such a keen interest in the sport and their participation should be celebrated as much as possible!”
