19 anglers turned out for Match 8 of the Erne Anglers Float Only which was fished on the Ballyconnell Canal at No 1 and No 2 Lock and the River Erne at Bellanleck.
Wet and windy conditions, combined with very cold water temperatures did not help the fishing, however over 4 kg of fish still won every section.
Frank Smith (Omagh) won the match from the unfancied Ballyconnell Canal Section. Frank, drawn at peg 6, caught roach and some quality hybrids on the Long Pole for 5.500 kg.
Runner up was Tony Kersley (Ballycassidy) on peg 6 at Bellanaleck with 55 roach on the Bolognese for 4.850 kg. Vincent Walsh (Raphoe) was third, winning the Canal section at No2 Lock with 4.750 kg.
Lyndon Read (Lisnaskea) won the Harbour section with 4.170 kg.
Simon Huthwaite (Enniskillen) remains on top the league at41 points with 4 matches to go.
