The Dublin Angling Initiative will be creating a unique interactive family area at the Angling Show in Swords. Angling workshops will be provided for children, teenagers and all the family and will focus on all types of fishing. The family area aims to bring newcomers into fishing by providing hands on teaching, demonstrations and practical advice about how to get started, what equipment is required and where to fish.

The family fishing zone will also encompass live fish displays with marine species (including feeding times), freshwater and coarse fish as well as birds of prey. Flytying tuition will be provided all day and free flycasting lessons can be booked at the stand and taken on the day. Sea angling experts will also be on hand to give advice on bait presentation, techniques and casting. This area will cater for every age group and is expected to be a major attraction at the 2013 angling show. It will also be a great opportunity for experienced anglers to meet and learn from Irish International anglers. Quizzes, raffles and other events will take place throughout the day.
