Paddy Halpin of Inland Fisheries Ireland’s Limerick office reports that there waws good fishing water for the week at times with some flood water in the Feale. On Monday 17th and again on Sunday 16th it was up by 1ft. A lot of anglers were out on Tuesday but only 3 fish were reported for the week.
Lucky anglers in the Abbeyfeale waters during the week were John Stack who had a fine fish of 12lbs caught on the fly and Jack Murphy who had a fish of 7lbs and in the Killocrim/Finuge waters. Young Brian Hurley from Newcasltlewest had a good fresh fish of 10lbs while spinning along the wall on Tuesda. Water levels after the small fresh on Sunday are dropping again and is more suitable for fly at the moment.

As of 10.05am, today 27 June, there is low fishing water on the Feale. The river is running clear and stands at 360mm on the gauge. It is overcast now, about 17 C in a light breeze.
