04/03 – 10/03: Conditions were decidedly wintery over the week on the lough and only a few ‘hardy souls’ ventured out into the cold.
There were good hatches of Duck Fly near the start of the week and a few trout seen moving to these but by the middle of the week the drop in temperature meant that the fly hatches fizzled out and the trout had dropped to the bottom of the lough. There has been very little trout fishing effort to date with most trout anglers waiting for a lift in temperatures.
