Top angling guide and APGAI-Ire instructor Eamonn Conway reports that the Fane has been fishing very well recently. There have been huge hatches of olives and according to Eamonn olives are “hatching like mad” at the moment. The trout have been rising confidently to dry flies despite the rain and strong winds. Eamonn has found that dry olive imitations to size 18 are working very well indeed. Nymphs are also taking fish but for the first time this season Eamonn has found the dries are producing the better results. So the advice is to stay dry at the moment.
