Angling Guide and Instructor Eamonn Conway reports that he fished on a number of small streams in the Cavan area over the past week or two. Eamonn had lots of trout to the net on his visits to the area but the trout were small in size with the average measuring around eight to ten inches. It has been very cold of late and not much in the way of fly haches but Eamonn who is an expert nymph fisherman managed to land good numbers of trout on this technique. All trout were returned unharmed to the rivers after a quick photo. Eamonn reckons that the fishing should pick up when the weather improves and we get out of the current cold snap.
