Dermot Broughan from the IFI store in Tudenham reports that once again Owel has produced the best results in the midlands over the week.  There have been reports of the first hatches of Mayfly on the lake with fly seen on the northern end of the lake.  The best result of the week on the lake was Mick Mc Cormack from Mullingar who had 7 fish for the week with one fish of 7lbs on Saturday evening and his boating partner Andy Boyle had a fish of 4lbs 7ozs.  D Walsh, Kildara had 6  fish all over 2lbs and all returned.  Algis Stone was also on the lake and had one trout at 1½lbs and a pike of 2 ⅔lbs.  In all there were reports of 121 fish landed on the lake over the week with 18 returned.

IFI would encourage all anglers to return as many fish as possible.

Lough Ennell

The weather has eventually started to warm up after a very wet, cold and windy week.  On Ennell there have been no reports of fish being caught.

Lough Derravaragh

Anglers fishing Derravaragh had a difficult week.  During a patrol on Sunday we interviewed eleven anglers and of those eleven only one was lucky with one pike taken for the day.
