LOUGH LENE CUP.

This popular all legal trout competition was canceled back in march due to high winds, and will take place this coming Sunday. Its a club competition and will be fished from 11am-6pm. Starting and finishing at Fagan’s Point. The lake has produced some huge brown and rainbow Trout in recent weeks, as reported in Angling Focus and it should fish well next Sunday.

ENNELL TROUT ANGLERS.

Yep as we settle into May, the big talking point is the May Fly. Its early days but hopefully soon we will be drifting through hatches of May Fly and catching some trout on Ree, Sheelin, and Ennell.On Sunday May 26th L.E.T.P.A. will host the Rex Beaumont Cup, it’s the first fly fishing competition of 2013, and new members are more than welcome to come on board. KELLS ANGLERS SHEELIN CLASSIC.

It’s all hands on deck for the Kells Anglers Sheelin Classic. The date is set for Sunday June 9th, and entry must be in by Wednesday June 5th.One again there is an Aladdin’s Cave full of fantastic prizes including a new 19Ft Boat and Trailer, a 5HP 4 Stroke Outboard Motor, a 54lb Electric Motor, plus a huge array of fishing equipment and gear. Entry fee is 70 Euro for Boating Angler, and 90 Euro for Non Boating Angler. I will have more on the Kells Anglers Sheeling Classic in the coming weeks.
