Andy Teticu fished Blessington Lakes with his dad, Gioni, a number of times in the last couple of weeks and target species was perch, Andy’s favourite fish.

Andy was fishing with 8m long pole “to hand” using maggots/worm as hookbaits with dark Sensas groundbait laced with chopped worms and dead maggots. The swim was very deep so pretty heavy rig was required. Andy was using 3 lb Maxima Chameleon main line, 2 lbs Shimano hooklength and 14 Tubertini Series 1 Red hooks.

The float was hand made Mochkov Drift Beater 6 grams float. These waggler style floats are ideal for fishing the deep swims and strong tow when keeping the rig still is difficult. The tactic prove succesfull and Andy managed to catch a few nice perch, one brown trout and a few big roach over 1 lb.
