Portobello Angling Club report on their trip to Lough Sillian in Co. Cavan:
With a blustery day expected by all taking part in our return trip to Lough Sillian, Shercock, Co.Cavan, the majority of the 14 anglers chose to fish the feeder at long distance. Unfortunately the skimmers did not turn up in any real numbers.
Henry Norton fished close in on the feeder to finish with a bag of roach for 3.340kg with Trev Campbell a close 2nd 3.250kg again with mainly roach this time at long distance. Rounding off the top 3 with a weight of 2.990kg was Eoin Schweppe who fished both at long and short distance over the 5hrs with a mixed bag of skimmers and roach.
The club would like to give special thanks to the 4 local pleasure anglers who very kindly gave up their pegs so the club could fish together – they also helped some members by bringing their gear to the opposite shore by boat.
