Patrick Cooper tells us about his trip to Roscommon last weekend;

The weather was pretty bad; rain and wind so my usual trip to the Suck was out so I decided to fish a small lake on Saturday(18/10) and was hoping to catch a few roach . I was fishing with my daughter, Jennifer, and we were using feeder rods. We did not expect to catch much given the weather conditions . I had a nice perch on my first cast.  After that, I started to catch rudd and had 4 of them. 2 of them going over a lb, one a 1lb 8oz.  Then Jennifer hooked and landed a very good rudd which was 2lb 4oz on my avon scales she was delighted with this catch. It was only afterwards I realised that this was a specimen rudd .
