Lee Bantting and his father John from Co Armagh have kindly reported on their pike fishing exploits over 3 days recently. Lee and his dad caught 9 pike, mainly ‘off the ledge’ at White Island and off the shoreline at Yellow Island. The heaviest pike weighed 8½lb and all fish were caught on lures trolled from the back of the boat. Lee reports that the weather was calm with shoals of fish appearing on the fish finder only in the deeper water (after a severe cold snap days before). Lee also says that the weather has kept them off Muckno over the last couple of weeks but they will return over Christmas and New Year. We look forward to hearing from them.
