Some more double figure salmon were reported on the Laune writes Billy Downes…

As of Tuesday 17th the Laune was at a nice 1.75 feet on the gauge at Johnston’s and running clear.  There have been some good fish landed over the last few days.  Chief amongst these were three 14 pounders that I heard of.  One was caught at Johnstons on Saturday by Martina Murphy, her first salmon ever.

On Monday another Tralee angler landed another 14 pounder at Johnstons on the worm.  On Tuesday evening (17/06/) Mike Crowley returned a beautiful 14 pounder caught on the fly at the Rock Pool.  No soccer for Mike.

There were a few other ordinary fish landed also.  This writer lost a lovely 10 poinder at the Strand at Johnstion’s last Thursday on the fly.

Prospects

Good improvement in prospects now with fish being regularly reported and memorable fish among them.  Conditions continue be good after last weeks good water.
