Low water levels continued on the Moy and the very hot and humid weather also impacted on angling during the week. However, the Moy system still managed to produced 164 salmon for the week. Given the conditions the Moy Fishery did relatively well and 44 salmon were landed. Lucky anglers included Steve Hazeldine and James Carthright from the UK who had 4 fish to 5lb on the fly from the Ridge Pool, Andrew Craig, NI, Phil Donohue, Galway and Charlton Peters, UK who had 4 salmon to 5.5lb on fly from the Catherdral Beat and Greg McCreight and Brendan Kearney, NI, who had 2 fish to 7.5lb from Spring Wells.

 

Mike Bowsher, UK,  fishing the Mount Falcon water had 5 salmon on worm and spinner. Paul Williams, Wales, had 3 fish on bubble and fly to 6lb at the Foxford Fsihery while Paddy McKiernan, NI, had a 5lb fish on bubble and fly at Gannons. At Clongee Jez Leech also had success with the bubble and fly landing a salmon of 5lb.

Estuary

Judd Ruane reports that the estuary fishing for sea trout was poor last week and only 16 trout were caught by his anglers.
