Charter skipper Hamish Currie reports that large spur dogs are still being caught at the moment and there are some nice tope running with them too. Mackerel are everywhere now and in huge numbers with is good for getting bait and no doubt helps keeps the predators around.
Hamish is busy getting the boat ready for the porbeagle season and he will start targeting them about the middle of next month. There are reports from further north that the juveniles have arrived in numbers but Hamish and Co. will wait on the sexually mature fish.
