Cashel Trout Fishery report by Marlene Mc Laughlin
Although the weather has not been ideal, anglers are still out for a good day’s fishing at Cashel taking in the beautiful scenery and fresh air.
Newcomers, Paul Hearty and Alexander Weir (Scotland) spent a few days fly fishing with us to produce some fine trout. Using a diawl bach and a green nomad these anglers released rainbows nearing 14 lb and 10 lb which gave a brilliant fight. Keith Glenn and and Andrew Duncan (Antrim) did equally as well using small black lures like an ace of spades to bank trout nearing the double figures. Thomas Farren (Garvagh) spent a couple of hours, unfortunately was rained off and only managed to rise a trout or two. Joe Toland (Derry) also new to Cashel tried out his different fly lines but did not quite manage to keep his trout on. Dungiven’s Martin Bradley and John Hasson released half a dozen each over two days using small lures and diawl bachs.
We have a great selection of rods, reels and tackle etc at keen prices for that special someone
