On Lough Ramor today in Co Cavan it was 14 degrees with bright blue skies with wispy cloud. The lake was like a mirror on occasions and the water was crystal clear. It’s hard to believe that it is the second of November. During the day fish were observed topping all over the lake at distance but they were reluctant to come into the shallower water despite the tasty free offerings. Only when the sun dipped as evening approached did the fish activity come close to shore and into the shallower water. As the light faded it was a fish a chuck with some nice roach and an occasional perch. No bream or hybrids appeared during the day or evening sessions but one or two rod wrenching bites that failed to hook up were from better fish. With the weather to remain settled for the next few days Lough Ramor might be worth a go.
