The Madcap’s, Midlands Coarse & Pike Anglers, report from their latest match on the Shannon didn’t feature great weights but it wasn’t bad fishing given the conditions…

22 June: 12 members fished the match on the River Shannon. It was Midsummers day – not that you would know it. The weather wasn’t great and it proved difficult to present bait properly with a strong up river wind. But everyone had mixed bags of roach, perch and some hybrids.

Madcaps
Arthur Judge came first

Well done to the top three:

  • 1st Arthur Judge 5.860 kg
  • 2nd John Keogh 3.900kg
  • 3rd Trevor Wykes 2.690

As summer progresses we expect the catches to improve with bait going in and some preparation on the swims.

It was an enjoyable match and everyone was happy to be back on the Meadows again.
