Congratulations to Nigel Hirst of Mirfield, West Yorkshire the 2015 winner with a catch of 44lbs 14oz over the three days.
34 anglers from the UK and Ireland fished the River Blackwater for lovely nets of dace in the annual 3-day spring festival.

There was a lot of rain on the run up to the festival so the river was in good condition. On Monday it was a little high with some colour and everyone was looking forward to some good fishing and they were not disappointed although the very windy conditions made the fishing difficult in places. Nigel made a great start to the week with a catch of 18lb.
Day 2, Wednesday saw different conditions. The river had risen around a foot on Tuesday but it dropped quickly providing more colour on Wednesday. Mick Stanley of London had a great catch of 27lb 4ozs.
Going into Friday we had 3 lads on 29lb with only 4ozs between them. The conditions had changed again but Nigel did the business with his catch of 15lb 14ozs.
- 1. Nigel Hirst 44lb 14ozs
- 2. Mick Stanley 39lb 6 ozs
- 3. Malc Nicholson 38lb 11ozs
