Plenty of good coarse angling reported in Cavan area

Sixty anglers took part in the Annual Arva Seniors Competition last week which was held over five days.   Weather condition were challenging.  The following are a list of the winners:-

• 1^st. Alan Humphries 32.650
• 2^nd. Nickey Harris 26.120kg
• 3^rd. Brian Nesbitt 25.270kg
• 4^th. Neil Mazarek 24.200kg
• 5^th. Chas Brandon 23.540kg

On Sunday last fifty five anglers fished the Derek Pratt Memorial on Rosduff, Corfree, Gulladoo, Rockfield and Glasshouse.  The winner was Baz Smith with 10.200kg.

Some nice Bream and the odd Tench are being fished at Hollybank Lake, bags ranging from 30/35lb, also good mixed bags from Corlesbratten up to 35lb.

Town Lake Killeshandra is showing the odd Tench with good mixed bags.

Good mixed bags mainly Roach and Skimmers are being caught at the wooden bridge at Killykeen.

Some pleasure anglers fishing the Cootehill area report catches up to 40lb mainly Hybrids and the odd Bream.
