A statement from Bandon Angling Association today reads:
‘We would like to take the opportunity to clarify our stance on the current situation with regards to Bandon and the Flood Relief Scheme. For many years, Bandon and its people have fallen victim to varying degrees of flooding.
‘From source to sea, the Bandon river has been altered over time due to a multitude of factors, such as land use and climate change. To counteract the gradually growing consequences we are now experiencing, it is absolutely essential that action is taken to aid Bandon in adapting to these variations…..
