Ghillie Vincent Appleby reports on the salmon and sea trout fishing in the past week on Lough Currane from his blog at http://wwwsalmonandseatroutphotos.blogspot.com/

17/06/15 Breaking News I told a lie, some facts of the day from Mr. John Allen of Waterville and UK here are his facts of the day and at least he got a starter,
On Currane again today and I managed one Sea Trout 2. 5 lbs on the fly. Again let her back  safely to fight another day .
Best
John Allen

There were no Runners or starters at the Lough Currane meeting, as my Noble Anglers were more interested in the 3.45 at Ascot and what anglers did venture out they had no winners  either. Wind West light to fresh and overcast with misty rain again today.

18/06/15 In the Salmon department Northern Ireland Angler, Mr. Andy Wishart, caught a fine 4 lbs. Grilse on the troll, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com Now we head up the North shore to the Bungalow, DR. Alan Edwards, fishing out of www.butlerarms.com and fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught a fine 3 lbs. 10 oz Sea Trout on the fly fishing an intermediate fly line and for the rest of the angling community the least said the soonest mended. Wind N light to fresh with bright sunshine all day.

19/06/15 My Noble Anglers failed miserably in all departments but to be fair it wasn’t a great day with very low cloud and a light wind from the West and very humid, my Noble Game Fish were as lethargic as the Anglers so on that note I will head for the apology department again and yes you have it another technical cock-up on my part. I start in the Salmon/Grilse department, Local Angler Dr. Jim Commerford caught a Salmon/Grilse on the troll. And in the Sea Trout department Mr. Michael O’Sullivan the Commander-in-chief of Waterville Boats and at [email protected] caught a fine 3lbs. Sea Trout on the Fly and I can tell you he wasn’t amused, all I can say is sorry for these discrepancies’ just for the record they were caught last week. Now to the personal department I would like to Wish on behalf of all Anglers from Ireland and overseas, Mr. Paul Burke of the Inland Fisheries a great retirement and plenty of tight lines so I will let Paul have the last word on today’s notes

I am off to enjoy the best of what Irish Angling has to offer so please god I will run across you somewhere but please wear a lifejacket at all times when going afloat in freshwater or at sea,
Safe fishing to all and tight lines, especially here in Ireland.
