Carrigaholt skipper Luke Aston reports on some good fishing off the Clare  coast.  On Saturday after a break in the weather Luke and crew were back out and had good catches of pollack, link, haddock and cod.

Carrigaholt - 29.08.15Sunday saw a flat calm day on Loop head with a great view from the Aran Islands to the Blasket Islands and all the coast in between. Dolphins, Tuna and Humpback whales surrounded the boat.

Carrigaholt - 30.08.15German angler Ozzy was among a group with Kingfisher on Monday that have fished with Luke every year for the last 11 years.  He is a real fishing machine !  And yesterday, Tuesday was shark day with 4 in first part of the drift.

Also out making an impression on the blue shark was Skipper Séan Maguire and his anglers out on the Lady Gwen II. On Tuesday, 01 September, he had the boy’s from Nenagh out for more shark fishing. It was hectic! Over 20 were hooked and 16 landed.
