We went wreck fishing for ling on Wednesday (01 July) and ended up with nearly as many sharks as ling because they were taking our fish as we reeled them in. I even landed one that took a rubber muppet as I reeled it up!
We finished with 12 ling to 20lb and nine sharks (without rubbydubby) and a couple of good size whiting. And that’s not including the half fish!
Meanwhile the reports from the anglers out on Mike Dennehy’s Silver Dawn are also that the fish are plentiful on the wrecks at the moment.
Well known specimen hunter Sidney Kennedy had a decent ling recently and there have been a number of good fish in the boat including some fine cod and coalfish.
