Rob Love reports that the Liffey is fishing really well recently, with some great hatches of Large Dark Olives..

Fishing has been superb over the last week or two on the Liffey with, at times, Large Dark Olives hatching in enormous numbers. Yours truly managed to get out before the school run a few days ago and in an hour and a half had over 20 fish (all returned) with some sizeable ones in the mix.
Both dry fly – in my case a Davy McPhail CDC olive – and nymphs (Hares Ear or PTN) are working well at present and it can’t be long before, amongst others, the fantastic Hawthorn fly starts making an appearance which as we know Mr Trout loves.
