Lindsey Clarke reports from LOUGH MELVIN – Monday 1st  to Sunday 7th June 2015.

Angling was good this week on Lough Melvin. The mayflies have started to hatch in decent numbers and the fish responded with good catches of sonaghan reported over the week. The best of the trout fishing seems to have been in Kinlough and Lareen Bays at the bottom end of the lough. The Garrison an Lough Melvin Anglers held the second leg of the Tony O’Brien Cup on Sunday and this leg was won by Niall Crummy and Darryl Grimason with 6 trout. There was also a number of grilse caught with many hooked and lost. One angler hooked four and lost all of them in one session!
