Michael Flanagan teamed up with Lough Bane Anglers last Sunday for their first trout competition of the 2015 season…

It was a nasty old day, with blustery winds, and few good hail and rain showers. I found it hard to entice a Bane trout to take my fly, and ended up with a great blank for my first day on Bane. On the day some lovely fish were presented at the 6pm weigh-in.

Top Rod was Navan angler John Mulvaney with a super brown trout of 4.30lbs.Ollie O’Neill of Castlepollard had a lovely rainbow of 3.12lbs to take 2nd place, and John Murray of the Downes finished 3rd with another rainbow of 2.85lbs.

The Multy lads Paddy Ward, and Tom Newman had 3 lovely trout, but just missed out on the prizes.
