Ruairi Coleman from Swords Angling Centre has had a few outings on Lough Sheelin over the last week with John Baker and has sent a few pics of some trout they caught. Rory had 3 on Sunday 3rd May and 6 on Monday 4th May. John Baker from Navan also had some nice fish during these outings. The fish have been caught on dry buzzers and were in fantastic condition and all fought really hard. The lads fished during the day but also right into dark and fish were active right through. Fishing was tougher yesterday but fish were still caught though not as many as on previous outings.

For up to date angling information and a range of top gear why not drop into Ruairi at his shop in Swords. He stocks a full range of sea, game, pike and coarse angling tackle and bait. Swords Angling Centre is located in Applewood Village next door to the Orchard Public House.

As the cream of the mayfly fishing is approaching Ruairi has advised us that Swords Angling Centre is now stocking a large range of flies from Frankie McPhillips, Bann Valley, Dragon flies, and some others. We also tie our own pattern’s that we have used with great success on Sheelin for years and we tie flies to order.

Ruairi can be contacted at 087 707 0237 or by email at [email protected]

Ruairi has also mentioned that he knows some guides who he has fished with on Lough Sheelin and they still have some days available for the mayfly, so anyone looking for a days mayfly fishing should contact the shop and Ruairi will help you out.
