A JUDGE has described a case of endangerment against a fisheries officer as like something ‘out of the wild west’.
After hearing evidence in relation to an endangerment charge and five other charges, the judge described the actions of Michael Duffy of Bleankergh, Ballycroy as ‘totally reckless’.
Duffy appeared before Westport District Court, sitting in Castlebar for the endangerment charge and possession of a fishing net, possession of fish, two charges of assault, and the use of a vehicle to aid in the committing of an offence.
The court heard from four fisheries officers in relation to the events of June 26 and 27, 2015 in Ballycroy. …
