The NCFFI offers Ireland’s lure anglers the opportunity to compete on the world stage at the 14th FIPS-ed World Championships Shore Angling with Lures to take place on the River Poprad this May in Slovakia.
Interested parties are invited to attend the qualifiers on the River Cusher, Co. Armagh on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd of April. During the four x 45 minute sessions anglers will fish for mainly trout, pike and perch, and will receive points based on the number of fish caught in each session.
Points will then be awarded by position in each of the sessions and the four anglers with the least points at the end of the two days will be selected for the team along with a reserve. Two more team members will be selected by the Predator Manager later to act as Captain & Delegate.
Entry is £20 (€25) per angler per day with the fees being assigned to the travelling team who will also receive funding from the NCFFI in order to subsidise costs. Anglers are asked to bring along with them an accomplice to act as a steward. Entry is open to members of NCFFI affiliated clubs and anglers have the option to sign up to the Predator Club prior to the day. Qualification and competition rules can be found at http://www.ncffi.ie/shore-team-qualifiers-2016/along with an entry form.
