As Christmas fades slowly into the background a few reports have started to filter through from some anglers who managed to get some fishing done over the Christmas period in between the many storms that battered the country over the last number of weeks. Well known international sea angler Joe Byrne did some shore fishing with some friends in the Waterford area over Christmas and was rewarded with an absolutely fantastic cod that weighed in at a whopping 12lb 3ozs. Joe’s massive cod was taken on a crab bait and gave an incredible fight before being finally subdued and landed. Well done Joe!
