Luke Aston in Carrigaholt reports that the big storm at the end of last week put the kibosh on plans, and they were tied up on Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s fishing was all in the estuary, sheltering from a gale of southerly wind. Plenty of Thornback Rays and a few other bits and pieces.

They got back out west on Monday. The wind was gone but there was a big swell running. Fishing was reported as  OK with plenty pollack and a few nice eating ling. The spurdogs were around as well to do a job on the whitefish traces!

Yesterday was a lovely day on the sea although there was still a bit of swell following the weekend’s storms. Luke and his anglers fished at anchor for the day and had 2 skate over 100lbs and a Porbeagle of about 40lbs. They also had some conger and a Huss.

Skate - this one was over 100lb
