Luke Aston of the Clare Dragoon and Sean Maguire of Lady Gwen reports on the charter boat fishing off the Clare coast…
June 12th:
Luke reports :Well a bit more “weather” today but lovely once out there. And the better drift meant lots of fish with plenty pollack to 10 lbs. Also had a Minkie whale with her calf cruising round us for a while.
Sean reports: Fresher at sea today, nature telling us not to get too complacent with the fine weather. It shook things up a bit though with good fishing, and when the sun came out it turned out quite a nice day.
June 16th:
Luke reports: Our trip today was limited by a fresh northerly but we could fish in shelter to Loop head. Some nice Pollock and even a few Codling about. Nice to see the Mackerel coming up the estuary as well with good shoals up to Rahy.
June 18th:
Sean reports: Plenty fresh mackerel got us some nice ling fishing in the morning and also some good whiting. We had a bit of a search for pollock but it came good in the afternoon.
June 20th:
Luke reports: Well I was back out today after some poor weather and a very bad back! Thankfully I had help today which was great. Anyway despite the sea state still being quite poor in the morning we did manage to get out on some reefs west of the Loop and had a nice mixed bag of fish. Some nice Haddock around which is always welcome. Now let’s hope for some better weather again.
Go fishing…
