One of the north-easts top angling guides Eamonn Conway was out and about on the Fane over the weekend. Eamonn reports that fishing on the River Fane at the moment is hard goin, the river is very low and is in need of some fresh water. He advises that small dries are working well with light tippet and long leaders, the trout are very spooky due to the conditions. Light nymphs presented on long tapered leaders fished in the runs are also working too when the trout are not on top. Eamonn has had some success using these techniques but hopes that we get abit of rain to freshen up the river and wake the trout up.
