Martin McKenna PRO for the Emy and District Anglers reports:
Conditions were good but chilly for the Eugene Mulligan cup competition yesterday Sunday 24/04/2016 . A total of 17 anglers took part 16 seniors and 1 junior . Fishing was good and the rainbows continue to oblige with a great days sport . A total of 18 fish caught and great drama unfolded as it was a very close call between second and third place but after a re weigh it was decided that only one ounce separated the pair .
Well done to Brian Corrigan who continues to show us how its done by taking first place with the heaviest fish weighing in at 3lbs 8ozs Congratulations Brian. Robby Keane took second spot with the heaviest bag two fish weighing a total of 5 lbs 6 ozs . Tommy McCaffrey was pipped into third place with two lovely fish totalling 5lbs 5ozs .
Many thanks all for supporting this event which was the 15th annual Eugene Mulligan memorial competition .Eugene was a great club member for many years much respected and missed by the club . Prizes were presented by Vincent Mulligan Eugene’s brother . Many thanks all and continued safe fishing.
