Congratulations to BSI Sensas the All Ireland Club Champions for the second year in a row who also qualify as the club to represent Ireland at the FIPS-ed World Club Championships in Hungary in 2018.

40 anglers attended the two-day competition on Lough Oughter, Killykeen Forest Park in County Cavan at the weekend presenting eight teams of five, representing five clubs and some of the best float anglers in Ireland.

The winning team of David Herron, Cathal Hughes, Philip Jackson, Gary Doyle and Rory Dunne won day one with 15 points followed by an amazing 6 points on day two, finishing with 31 points to include 4 section wins. A great performance from David Herron finishing first in his section on both days to win the match overall and Cathal Hughes second in section daily including a top match weight of 41lbs. BSI Sensas took the top positions with their Green team in second position followed by the Tubertini match club in third place.

Well done to all the teams who took part and for John Heys of Kingfisher AC for hosting and running the event.
BSI Sensas are currently preparing to represent Ireland at the Championships staged in France at the end of the month. Their entry costs are subsidised by the NCFFI but overseas trips are expensive and they are holding a Race Night Fundraiser this Saturday 8th July at the The Cottage Inn Bar & Grill. If you would like to help them out you can buy a horse or jockey or even name a race. For more details contact Conor Browne
