Visiting coarse anglers take the top five prizes at the annual Royal Enfield two-day Festival. The Royal Canal was prepared well by Waterways ireland for the event and produced some cracking catches of skimmers and bream.

There were 54 anglers fishing the popular event which kicked off at Longwood. The venue fished well and some fine bream were caught. Colin Oliver finished the day in the lead with 13lb 13oz. However there were a few anglers all in double figures.

Day 2 was fished on the infamous Blackshade section, home of many big weights over the years. Paul Hughes started the day in fourth position on 11lb 1oz and ended up with a commanding win of the Royal Enfield Angling Club 2 Day International with a weight of 38lb 10 ozs over the 2 days.

He was presented with his trophies and prizes by Enda Raleigh of Waterways Ireland and Cllr Enda Flynn of Meath County Council.
Mike White took 2nd place with Chris Skinner taking 3rd place.
