Stefan Martin gives another great round up on the angling in Donegal Bay…

02 December: A big moon lit the beach making it possible to fish with no headlights needed into the nice lapping surf at the league outing. Flounders were feeding hard on the last of the ebb with double and even treble hauls being landed for measure and release all along the beach. Some big scores were being clocked up with the nice mix of good flounder and coley. In the end a great fishing for Michael Patton taking the 1st place prize with 16 flounder and in 2nd place another great fishing for Peter McGroary and the longest fish prize was won with a 37cm flounder for Johnny Byrne. Well done to all who took part. Next outing will take place next Friday venue tbc before a Christmas break (weather permitting).

04 December: Curtain like veils of mist clung to the cliffs at the edge of the bay today as we chased some big winter flounder on the filling tide. A stunning location for the day when the sun shone the white sands gave the water turquoise tint and a nice run of flounder came in with the tide the biggest measuring 40cm. A remote location with plenty of life about it making an enjoyable few hours
