Max Couque from Galway Fishing was out again on Saturday. As he put is “Nice weather in Galway, pollock were very busy today, some nice size ones, cod, wrasse, coalfish and the first mackerel of the year.”

The weaver fish have turned up so watch out; the flounders are still coming back worse for wear; The ever present coalies keep the rods rattling and there was single bass to lift the spirits. Things are looking up in the bay, with the water temp. slowly increasing.

Charter boats

Max Couque - Leaca RuaDeep sea fishing trip in Galway Bay from Rossaveel. Fish for species such as shark, pollack, ling, ray, mackerel and much more… Licence for up to 12 persons. Smaller groups welcomed and individuals also catered for. For day trips, boat departs Rossaveel around 9am and returns around 5.30pm.
For evening charter, boat departs at 6.30pm and returns approx at 9.30pm.
