Arnold Donnelly, IFI Limerick, reports that Ballinlough was the venue for the recently held Annual Donnellan Cup on Sunday 11th of June hosted by Lake O’Flynn & District Angling Association. This event is fished annually in memory of Noel Donnellan Ballinlough and features prominently in the events calendar for the village every year. Blustery and showery conditions greeted an excellent entry of (32 Anglers) and as always this event is a keenly contested affair between the locals and visiting anglers who come mostly from all nearby counties with a few travelling from across the Shannon.

The heaviest fish winner was Jim Woods with a fish 2-lb 08.0 oz.
