This week’s weather (13-19 June) has seen torrential rain and Mediterranean sunshine! Temperatures have not fell below 13 degrees Celsius during daylight hours with nights remaining humid also. Wet weather dominated much of Monday in the lower Shannon river basin district, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were mild humid days with some sunny periods. Friday, Saturday and Sunday were beautiful sunny, warm days with temperatures reaching 28C in Portumna on Sunday evening.
Feedback from coarse angling is positive this week with good catches being reported throughout the area of Roach, Tench of up to 60cm.
Meelick has good stocks of roach with plentiful supplies of juvenile fish.
Shannon Harbour is fishing well with Roach and Bream catches of up to 55cm.
Shannonbridge is seeing plenty of boat fishing and visitors to the area and are happy with catches of their coarse fish.
