Padraig Carroll tells us that with water levels still extremely low on many rivers and lakes, the canal levels are perfect for fishing. The Grand Canal in Offally is capable of producing bream during the day with some lovely sized fish turning up to most anglers. Float fishing maggot and caster over groundbait is giving great fishing.
Late evening into dark is still proving best for big bream and tench. Maggot and paste fished over a bed of groundbait and pellet is working well.
