Munster Coarse Anglers were at Portumna on the River Shannon for the Final match in their Winter League…

Finally we got it right. The sun shone and the fish were biting in the final winter league match of this year.

The town section at Portumna produced quality roach with some nudging that mythical 2lb mark,  and a few hybrids showed as well. A good sign for the forthcoming Portumna Festival in a few weeks time.

It was also Portumna locals Richard Bedford and Steve Grogan who battled it out for first place. Both were on equal points so it was overall weight that finally saw Richard become this years champion, with Munsters Ian Kelsey taking third spot.

Thank you to all the anglers who fished this year, members and guest your attendance was much appreciated in what was some very taxing conditions that mother nature through at us league starts again October 2018.
