The Monavagher Canal was once again the venue of choice for the Lower Bann CAA league this weekend. And it proved a good choice for guest angler Slawek who had a great match win with 7kg 150g of roach on the pole…
25 February: A cold, bright winters day greeted the 12 anglers who contested round 10 of the Lower Bann Winter League.
The match again reverted to Movanagher Canal as reports of the river continued to be unfavourable.
The majority of anglers were not disappointed as the fish have spread throughout both sections.
Slawek Siembida made his debut appearance fishing with the club a winning one. From peg 9 Slawek weighed in 7Kilo 150 of mostly roach using pole tactics. Hugh Elder was runner up on peg 5 with 4Kilo 680.
0.080 Kilo separated the next 4 anglers, with Paul Hutchman 3rd, leading this tight bunch with 3Kilo 640 from peg 8. Robbie Wisner peg 10, 4th with 3Kilo 620. Bob Glasgow peg 6, 5th with 3Kilo 600 (including weighing in a nice bream). Jimmy Speers 6th peg 7 with 3Kilo 560.
Aaron Galbraith still leads the league. League standings to follow.
Well done Salwek
